About Us
Gravity Science Foundation® was established on 15th October 2018. The main aim of Gravity Science Foundation is to popularize science in rural areas as well as in the society and promoting basic science research in school-college students. The foundation is aiming to build scientific temper and developing scientific literacy in Chamarajanagara and other backward parts of Karnataka by providing Science Education for all levels.
Objectives

To create awareness and develop scientific temper about science among common people.

Promoting basic science research in school-college students and also providing education.

To conduct seminars, workshops, refresher courses, teacher’s training programs, science competitions for students, monthly science talks for general public, experimental programs for students

Founder

Abhishek A S
Founder Secretary, GSF
Abhishek A. S hails from Alur village in Chamarajanagar district in Karnataka. He is a science
communicator, educator, and promoter in rural areas of Chamarajanagara, Mysuru, and different
parts of Karnataka to popularize basic sciences among students as well as in the general public.
He has teaching experience in physics from primary to degree and even engineering students. He is also serving as a scientific adviser and visiting faculty in physics for many educational institutions.
In order to promote and popularize basic sciences among school and college students, he has started to serve in the field of science education since 2012. He has visited several schools, UG, and PG colleges, delivered many hands-on science lectures, and conducted many science programs for the scientific community. He has reached lakhs of students and demonstrated many science experiments in various parts of Karnataka, including rural and tribal areas. Mr. Abhishek has conducted various science activities like STEM hands-on workshops, science teacher training
programs, student exposure programs, science awareness activities for the general public, skill
development programs, special science lecture series, career guidance programs, and astronomy
education programs. He has also participated in various national and international conferences.
He is a life member of professional bodies like the Indian Association of Physics Teachers, KRVP,
and is also a science article writer in Kannada and a speaker on All India Radio (AIR). He is an
amateur radio general-grade license holder from WPC, Ministry of Telecommunication, Govt. of India.
Mr. Abhishek is the founder and secretary of the Gravity Science Foundation, Chamarajanagara.
The organization includes scientists, professors, doctors, science educators, communicators, and
those working in the fields of science education promotion, popularization, communication, and
research. This organization is recognized as the official space tutor of ISRO, Govt. of India, and is
also recognized as one of the top 100 meritorious science clubs in India by Vigyan Prasar, an
autonomous organization of the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.
Mr. Abhishek has received several awards, including the Keerthishree Award (2010), the Young
Scientist Award from KRVP (2012), the Innovative Teacher Award (2018), the Basava Jyothi State
Award (2018), the Karunada Ratna State Award (2018), the National Youth Icon National Award
at the Constitution Club of India in Delhi (2019), the Karnataka State Award by the Department of
Women and Child Development, Government of Karnataka, from the honourable Chief Minister
of Karnataka (2022), the News18 Kannada Varshada Kannadiga State Award from the reputed
national TV channel TV18 (2024), and many more honours and recognitions.
